This is a fishing village to the east of Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel about 15 kilometers by the sea shore. The people of this village live on fishing by using engine sail outrigger canoes, when they go out to the sea by midnight for some kilometers away to catch small tunas, mackerel and others of small fish. They return after sun rises at about 07:00 am, making the panorama of the sea of Bali colorful from their various sails which can be enjoyed from the front terraces of every Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel, rooms or cottages, really an impressive sight when combined with the watch of the sun to rise which everyday visible from Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel to take place in between 06:15 - 06:25. Watch the great fireball appears from below of the horizon to start the life of everything on earth ! The people of Amed also live on agriculture as their flat location land of the village is luckily watered by the under ground small river starting from foot of Mt. Agung to appear on the surface at some points of this village enough to irrigate the crop cultivation. The under sea water panorama of this village beach also is much known and interesting to be explored by the divers and snorkeled as in object of activity starting from our Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel, the only dive resort on this part of island. |

This village on the foot of Mount Agung lies at southeast direction of Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel with the distance of 25 kilometers. Further drive up from this village, we can find and see the reserved national forest at the height of } 600 meters above the sea level with an area of more than 100 hectares to protect the ecology and it was officially inaugurated by the Vice President of The Republic of Indonesia in 1983. The atmosphere at this site spot is really calm with fresh mountain weather, a nice location for relaxation and at the same time enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding with "Paon" or Kitchen hill on the right side and on the opposite direction across we can see at the distance the Lombok strait and closer is Seraya hill and Bisbis, the site location of the famous and one of the most sacred temples for the Hindu Balinese is Lempuyang Temple. It is kindly recommend to our guests to come to Pidpid mountain resort in the morning after breakfast at our Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel because the sight and atmosphere will be cleaner due to still lower humidity, making the visibility is brighter. Although, there is no specific sheltered place to sit and watch, we may just sit on the grass or under the eucalyptus trees. If you feel good enough, you may hike another one or two hundred meters upward until a certain place to stop where you can enjoy more of the beauty and greatness of nature. |

This sacred temple for the Balinese Hindu lies about 13 kilometers to the east of Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel, to the opposite direction of Pidpid village at Mount or "Bukit" Seraya at the most eastern point of Bali island. Geographically this mountain lies at the end of land area of east Bali island along the Wallace line border that separates Indonesia into 2 specific of flora and fauna diversification character and west of Lombok strait, one of the deepest sea in Indonesia. The complex of Lempuyang Temple is composed of 3 elevation, namely : Penataran Agung Lempuyang at Purwayu village as the lowest location and further up half way to the top via Telaga Mas is Pasar Agung Temple commonly called Lempuyang Madya or middle Lempuyang and after this one is Lempuyang Luhur located on the top of Mount Seraya about 1.000 meters above sea level, accessible mostly through some staircases recently constructed by the authority. From Lempuyang Luhur Temple one can enjoy the beautiful surrounding view of the sea and Mount Agung, the great mountain. To reach the top of Lempuyang Luhur Temple one has to be fit because the path is narrow and breath taking exercise with the view of the deep valley and sea below. For the regular tourists a visit and stop Penataran Agung Lempuyang at Purwayu is all enough where you can already enjoy the beauty of nature product like Mt. Agung, Lombok sea strait and terraces cultivation villages down below. You can also see in the distance the radio tower and point of Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel located at the right side especially visible when the sky is clear and not overcast. The history of Lempuyang Temple complex began from the 2 century AD when the Hindu religion teachings reached Bali island brought by the saint holy priests from East Java. After this religion came to Indonesia first from Aceh in Sumatera through the Indian traders who made business and spread the Hindu belief to most part of Indonesia before Moslem dominated the whole country. According to written history record copied from generation to generation Mount Agung first noted to erupt in the year 89 which thereafter those saint holy priests from Mount Semeru in East Java came to Lempuyang to teach Hindu religion teaching to the people in Bali. Nowadays, almost all people try to ever come and pray at this temple to respect and admire the Almighty and the Creator of the universe. Taman ujung is located in Tumbu Village, Karangasem regency, approximately 35 km from Emerald Tulamben Beach Hotel. This Water Palace was built around 1921 by a King of Karangasem and use as a resting place for the King and as reception place for important guests. There are three large pools in the center of the main pool is the main building connected by two bridges. Next to the pool there are statues and stone flower pots. The architecture combines European and Balinese influence. At the western end of the Water Palace there is a round building built on a hill, it is called "Bale Bengong" and an ideal place from which to view the beautiful scenery in and around the Water Place. To reach this building you climb a series of wide stone steps. At the north of the main building, there is a hill and two wrack statues serving as water fountains. From the top of the hill you can see a vast panorama. To the east you can see Bibis Hill with it's lush green forest, to the south you can see the sea and surrounding the water palace there are lush green rice fields. The remain of this glorious culture was damaged by earthquake of Mount Agung eruption in 1963 and particularly in 1979. Even though it's just the ruins, but the impressive spectacular of the past still could see especially the enchanting beautiful scenery. |
